Bootheel Regional Planning & Economic Development Commission Executive Director, Steve Duke

Mr. Duke joined the Bootheel Regional Planning & Economic
Development Commission in the Fall of 2003. During his stint with the
Commission, Mr. Duke has been responsible for natural hazard mitigation
plan coordination, GIS mapping, planning & zoning and served as the floodplain
management coordinator.
Prior to working for the Bootheel Regional Planning Commission, Mr. Duke worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) from 1968 until his retirement in 2003. During his 35 year tenure with MODOT, Steve occupied various positions ranging from computer draftsman to transportation planning coordinator.
Mr. Duke is also a licensed commercial and instructor pilot, earning flight diplomas from Cape Central Airways, Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the Beech Aircraft Corporation, Wichita, Kansas. Steve has earned an architectural diploma from Draughon's College of Drafting, Nashville, Tennessee; mapping, mathematics and surveying certificate and a diploma in highway engineering technologies from International Correspondence Schools, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Steve is also a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners and is a Certified Floodplain Manager.
Mr. Duke is a proud veteran of the United States Army, 1966-1968.
