The Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission is a voluntary association of local governments created pursuant to revised statutes of Missouri Chapter 251. The Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission provides assistance to local units of government in such areas as updating or replacing public infrastructure, housing rehabilitation, business finance, mapping of infrastructure, solid waste management, tourism and other problem solving projects. The Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission is funded by a combination of state, federal and local resources and is governed by member city and county elected officials. The executive committee and general board membership meets on the third Thursday of each month.
