Sealed Proposals, in duplicate for construction of the Haywood City Community Center will be received by the Mayor’s Office at the City Hall, located at 31 Center Street, in Haywood City, Missouri, until:   Tuesday, December 11th, 2007, at 5:00 P.M.  at which time and place the Proposals shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

The information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Specifications, Plans, and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

 

            H. R. Porterfield, Architect, L.L.C., 948 Lester Street, Suite 3, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 

Reed Construction Data, online plan room, AGC of MO, Jefferson City, Missouri, F. W. Dodge Corporation, St. Louis, Missouri.

 

Copies of the Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the office of the Architect upon the following:

1)       A $100.00 plan deposit required for all General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Material Suppliers.

2)       Full deposit ($100.00) will be refunded to all General Contractors submitting bids (after the return of Plans to the Architect’s office).

3)       Contractors requesting additional sets will be charged a flat rate of $50.00 per additional set (which is NOT refundable).

4)       A refund of $100.00 will be given to Subcontractors & Material Suppliers who have been awarded a Contract for the Project.  It is his/her responsibility to inform the office of the Architect of same.

5)       All other General Contractors (not bidding), and Subcontractors and Material Suppliers who were not awarded a contract for the Project,  will receive a $50.00 refund, contingent upon the return of Plans and Specifications, in good condition, within FIFTEEN (15) days of bid opening date, to the office of the Architect.

 

Sealed bids must be marked “BID-COMMUNITY CENTER”.  Each bid must be submitted on the form provided and must bear on the outside the name of the firm submitting the bid.  If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed as shown in the advertisement.  Early submissions will be accepted at H.R. Porterfield, Architect, 948 Lester Street, Suite 3, Poplar Bluff, MO   63901.

 

Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the “Instructions to Bidders” Section of the Specifications.

 

Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements of conditions for employment to be observed.   Minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3 Segregated Facilities, Section 109, and Equal Opportunity Executive Order 11246.

 

The lowest bidder shall not receive a business expectancy merely because his bid is the lowest.  No business expectancy shall exist until the Contract has been awarded to a bidder.  No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after actual date of the opening thereof.  No second tier subcontracting will be permitted.  The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all bids.
