ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Pemiscot County Port Authority will receive Bids for Pemiscot Port Access Roadway and Rail Siding Grading Improvements until 2pm local time on October 24th, 2019, at Pemiscot County Port Authority, 111 East 3rd St., Caruthersville, MO 63830, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids are invited for the completion of work as follows:

Work will include the grading and installation of a new aggregate access roadway from the edge of Highway D west and south to a new Facility as shown on the plans. Also included is the grading and installation of aggregate sub ballast for a new rail siding north of the existing port rail storage track. The length of the access roadway improvement is approximately 3,000 linear feet and the length of the rail siding is approximately 3,400 linear feet and drainage culverts. The Owner will provide the geotextile fabric and aggregate materials for construction and the contractor will be responsible for their proper installation. Additional work includes topsoil removal, storm sewer, fertilizing, seeding, mulching and other miscellaneous work.

Electronic Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be obtained by calling the office of Klingner and Associates, P.C. at 217-223-3670 and no deposit will be required for the bid set. All Contract Documents will be provided via email.

A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Pemiscot County Port Authority, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid.

Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

The Pemiscot County Port Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the bidding.

Bids may be held by the Pemiscot County Port Authority for a period not to exceed 45 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
